Aletheia VC charges 246 freshers on discipline, academic excellence

The Vice Chancellor of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Professor Olukayode Akinyemi, has charged 246 new students to uphold discipline, academic excellence and integrity throughout their stay in the institution.

This was contained in a statement made available to Nigerian Tribune by the Public Relations Unit of the institution.

The statement noted that the matriculation was the third in the series, adding that the admission cut across 41 students in Arts, Management and Social Sciences; six in Engineering; 40 in Science and Information Technology; 131 in Medical and Allied Health Sciences; and 46 in Law.

This development, the statement said, has underscored the university’s growing academic footprint, with emphasis on science-driven programmes.

The VC noted that the institution remains committed to providing a conducive learning environment supported by quality infrastructure and a strong academic framework.

The pro-chancellor, Dr Onikepo Akande, commended the university’s steady growth and described it as a forward-looking institution committed to quality education.

She urged the students to remain focused and take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.

As part of activities marking the ceremony, the university inaugurated a tree-planting exercise to promote environmental sustainability.

Akande flagged off the initiative with the planting of a commemorative tree, while the institution noted that the initiative formed part of its broader commitment to responsible institutional development and environmental stewardship.

The event was attended by the chancellor, Major General Sansadeen Adebanjo Awosanya, and his wife, Alhaja Funmilola Omowunmi Awosanya, alongside members of the Board of Trustees, including Mrs Adeola Simon, Professor Saburi Adesanya, Mr Biodun Awosanya, and Mr Kola Abdul.

Also present was the Ogun State coordinator and deputy director of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Hakeem AbdulHameed.
